Ark Fastech General Manager Jerry Huang Appointed Secretary General of the Taiwan Fastener Trade Association (TFTA)

ARK FASTECH CORP is pleased to announce that its General Manager, Jerry Huang, has been officially appointed Secretary General of the Taiwan Fastener Trade Association (TFTA).

The appointment was confirmed during TFTA’s second general members’ meeting of the year, marking an important milestone for both the association and Ark Fastech’s continued involvement in industry-wide development and leadership.

A Key Industry Platform with Over 35 Years of History

Founded in 1989 as the Taiwan District Fastener Trade Association and restructured in 2003 as a legally incorporated association under the approval of Taiwan’s Ministry of the Interior, TFTA has served the fastener industry for more than 35 years. The association plays a critical role in strengthening industry collaboration, representing member interests, and supporting Taiwanese fastener companies in expanding their presence in global markets.

Today, TFTA comprises 317 member companies, making it one of the most representative industry organizations in Taiwan’s fastener sector.

Leadership Transition Amid Global Challenges

At the meeting, TFTA also announced its upcoming leadership transition. The current Chairman, Mr. Kuo-Ching Chiang, General Manager of Te Yu Enterprise, will complete his term in early 2026. The official handover ceremony is scheduled around March 6, 2026, when Mr. Tsung-Kuo Wu, General Manager of Heng Mao, will assume the chairmanship in the presence of more than 300 member companies—symbolizing an important generational transition within the association.

During the meeting, Chairman Chiang highlighted the severe challenges facing the global fastener industry since 2024, including weakened demand in European markets, the imposition of up to 50% tariffs on Taiwanese fastener products under the U.S. Section 232 measures, the influx of low-priced products from China, and persistently high raw material costs such as steel. These factors have placed significant pressure on cost control, order strategies, and operational resilience across the industry.

Fostering Succession, Innovation, and Talent Development

Looking ahead, TFTA will focus on two core themes: succession and innovation. The association aims to encourage greater participation from second-generation business owners and younger management teams, ensuring organizational vitality and long-term sustainability.

In parallel, TFTA will enhance its education and training programs around five key pillars—Production, Sales, People, R&D, and Finance—to help member companies improve efficiency, strengthen competitiveness, and achieve stable growth in an increasingly challenging international environment.

Driving Digital and Green Transformation

As Secretary General, Jerry Huang will support the association in advancing two critical transformation agendas:

• Digital Transformation: Promoting the adoption of AI and digital tools across sales, operations, and management to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Green Transformation: Increasing industry focus on carbon emissions and sustainability, and encouraging the development of low-carbon fastener solutions and greener supply chains.
